Saturday, March 6, 10:00-11:30 a.m., Swim Club, Big Canoe
The Dawson/Pickens League invites you to its first 2010 meeting. The program topic is conservation issues affecting the Etowah River Watershed. Keynote speakers are conservationist David Holty, Ph.D. and Diane Minick, Director of the Upper Etowah River Alliance.

Our League provides basic civics instruction to adult learners at Chattahoochee Technical College/Appalachian Campus in Jasper. The students are working toward their GEDs. Study topics include U.S. History; Origins of U.S. Government; Bill of Rights and the Constitution; Branches of Government; Political Parties; Voting and Elections; and Local Government.
 
We are interested in expanding the program to other educational and institutions. Anyone interested in learning more about the program is invited to contact Kat Alikhan at 706-268-1225.
